I had the pleasure of meeting Alexis many moons ago in Copenhagen, and I instantly developed a bit of a girl crush, understandably. She has the most charming accent, a radiant natural beauty, the most effortless style and she truly oozes confidence and joy. To me, she’s the epitome of what a Phoebe Philo woman is in real life - classy, intelligent, undeniably cool and looks damn good in a suit. She also makes me want to chop off all my hair… although, let’s be honest, I sadly wouldn’t look nearly as on point with the same haircut.

Also, I love that she’s a beauty nerd like me - she always has the best tips and such a thoughtful approach to everything she does. I’m constantly trying to recreate her makeup looks, side note: she’s actually the woman that put Merit on my radar (which is now one of my can’t live without beauty brands) so I was beyond thrilled to get some first-hand insight and a little sneaky peek inside her very own beauty cabinet. Alexis: I’m a Brighton based creative consultant and art director with a background in graphic design. I work across fashion, beauty and lifestyle, shaping visual stories and collaborating with brands in a way that hopefully feels thoughtful and considered. I have three grown up sons all heading in a creative direction, so am also given to mentoring them which I find really rewarding.
