Meet Cat Morrison

So, who is the beauty and creative force behind one of Instagram’s most soulful spaces?

I’m utterly over the moon about this week’s feature, I’m certain that many of you are familiar with this woman’s work already, but how much do you know about the woman herself?

Cat Morrison has a way of creating and curating content that doesn’t actually feel like “content”, which I guess is why it’s so captivating. There’s a certain energy or frequency to her work that’s difficult to put into words but easy to recognise when you witness it. In fact, spending time on @__s____o feels a bit like attending a group therapy session and exploring an art gallery you actually like, all at the same time. And the result is a space for reflection, presence and feeling some kind of emotion…which in the context of social media is quite wild to me.

The act of doomscrolling and consuming mindless and meaningless content has become an art most humans have perfected, despite the numb sense of emptiness and dissociation that comes along with it. But every so often something breaks the pattern and @__s____o is one of those rare exceptions.

I haven’t had the pleasure of actually meeting Cat (yet) but I can already sense that her energy feels warm. Her references, visuals and written language feel soft, emotional and familiar to me. Not only is she a fellow Aussie but I was happy to discover that she also wears the same perfume as me - keep reading to find out which one.
